The Book to Help Tell Your Child’s Sperm Donor Birth Story
This engaging new book: Emma–The Story of a Child, a Mom and a Sperm Donor, was written to help people who have created a family through sperm donation tell their child’s origin story so there are no secrets about their conception and birth.
Sperm donation, while no longer an uncommon choice to build a family, remains a sensitive subject to discuss. As an adoption attorney for 25 years, Susan Romer conceived of this book as the grandmother of a donor-created child. She developed a personalized book to tell her granddaughter her unique story in an approachable yet educational way. As in adoption, these unique stories need to be told to the child by the parent so there is no secrecy about his or her identity.
Emma uses that same storytelling style with a mother and daughter, using language that is simple but accurate about the donor process, from conception to birth.
Because we recognize the unique value of telling your own story, we at Life Journey Press also offer an option to work with graphic designer Caren Parnes to create a customized version of this book using your own photographs and you and your child’s names and personal story.
Emma is a 24 page, full color, 11″ x 8.5″ softbound book. Cost is $15.95 plus $3.95 postage. You can purchase Emma by going to our Contact Us page and emailing or calling us to order your book. We will accept PayPal or check for purchases.
